November 10th. "The push starts tomorrow"
When I was in high school my old weights and conditioning coach's name was Mr. Hawley. He used to have a ton of clever catch phrases but his best was "the push starts today". Meaning for all of us in his class to get working towards our goals and dreams right now and not to put if off anymore for whatever reason. I always respected Mr. Hawley and that particular phrase use to motivate me the most. What's sad is that the motivational phrase that pumped me up the most, I corrupted on my own and used it to be the war cry for my plunge from being fit physically, psychologically and spiritually into a world of unhealthy living. It started in college one night after I returned home from having to drop out of my first college because of a torn knee ligament {I played baseball in college}. I was out with some friends who were talking about high school days and my first thought went to Mr. Hawley. We started laughing about all his phrases and I jokingly raised my beer and announced that I would return to my previous levels of dedication and desire that were fit for an athlete but just not that moment. I announced that, "the push starts tomorrow". Little did I know that I had just begun my downturn which 12 years later I would still be trying to recover from. Today's weight: 248 Waist size: 42 The push starts today!
